WHAT DOES THE STUDY INVOLVE?

The first part of the study is conducted online. Participants will be asked to do three assessments, involving some fun, interactive singing and music activities and to answer some questions related to their singing and music background. It will take approximately 20-30 minutes per assessment. You do not have to complete them in one sitting. The assessments can be completed anywhere in the world, so as long as you have internet access on your computer or mobile device, you are good to go! Please note that Windows phone, Internet Explorer, and Safari older than version 11 on Mac computers will not be able to run our online study (Safari on iPad/iPhone is ok).

Families whose assessed music and singing abilities match those initially reported will be eligible to take part in the second part of the study, where DNA samples will be requested from the family members to look for genes that are associated with singing and music abilities.
